THE Agency’s 15 Year Anniversary

Hello, my name is Kim Barnes – Evans and I am extremely honoured to be the Managing Director and owner of THE Agency (Recruitment) Limited in Cleckheaton!

This year we are celebrating our 15th year in business, and I couldn’t be prouder of what we have achieved over the years! For those who know me, you will be aware that I am somewhat of a veteran of the recruitment industry, having embarked upon my career in 1988. I have extensive experience of new startups, not only for other companies, but I have also previously owned and sold a new start-up agency over 20 years ago, prior to setting up THE Agency. I love what I do and feel blessed and honoured to work in the recruitment industry.

I feel very grateful that we’ve had very strong year on year growth over the years – which has been down to sheer hard work, dedication and a clear vision from the whole team, however, I must be honest and say it’s not always been easy – is it ever in business? and that’s why we never take anything for granted…

Not long after we opened our doors in 2006 the recession descended upon us – but through strong client relationships and first-class service delivery, we thrived… we worked with niche clients who required volume recruitment, but at the same time, we also supported clients who needed assistance with redundancy workshops and the redeployment of staff when many businesses felt the hard pinch of the declining economy.

Over the past 18 months, we have continued to trade and support our clients during the pandemic – having our doors open every day to enable us to offer our valued clients a seamless service as we work our way back to some kind of ‘normal’. We are also delighted to be working with many new clients who have approached us to help them with an array of different vacancies and offer them the support they need to get their businesses back on track with wonderful new candidates and general consultancy support and market insight.

For us, it’s not all about placements and putting candidates in temporary bookings, it is about ‘people’ and how we can help them on their journey towards finding their perfect job, whilst helping clients find the right candidate for their role – At THE Agency we like to think our business is where we bring talented people together.

We have been very fortunate to have worked with many clients over the years, some of which I have personally worked with for over 25 years – clients that I value and would never take anything as ‘a given’ – we still have to work super hard to meet their needs, especially in today’s candidate-driven market…

All of the above has been down to a team of staff that I value with all my heart and a special mention has to go to Jo Whitley AREC, our Office Manager, Beverley Evered MREC, our Senior Consultant, and Ruth Toulson our Finance Assistant who between them have a combined service alone of over 25 years. Without them, our business would not be where it is today. Thank you ladies!
