Seven more sleeps!

Just under a month ago, we shared some exciting news with you about our alternative Christmas plans. As we’re now into December, and Christmas is just around the corner, we’re gearing up for a festive shop to donate to our local food bank – The Welcome Centre in Huddersfield.

The Welcome Centre helpfully provide information on the kinds of shortages they currently have on their website, as you can see here from their shortages list. If you would like to donate some items, you might want to base it on the current shortages, which helpfully tell us what our food banks are really in need of. At the moment, they’re asking for the following:

  • Toothpaste
  • Shampoo
  • Disposable razors
  • Cup-a-soups
  • Meat paste/fish paste
  • Instant coffee
  • Convenience foods such as pot noodle, mug shots and super noodles
  • UHT milk
  • Jam
  • Granulated sugar
  • Tins of tuna
  • Tinned meat meals, such as chilli, curry, stew etc
  • Gravy granules (meat and vegetarian varieties)
  • Large tins of ham
  • Mince pies
  • Tinned sponge pudding
  • Selection boxes
  • Stuffing
  • Christmas treats

If you would like to donate some food items, please can you do so by 12:00 noon on Monday 10th December at our offices.
