“My journey to becoming Founder and Operations Director at CTO (Core Team One) started many years ago when I approached THE Agency (Recruitment) Limited In Cleckheaton in 2007.
Back then and hardly out of high school (well, maybe not quite that young) I applied for a role that they advertised with one of their clients for an IT Engineer. I was, at the time working as a System Engineer but I was ready for a new opportunity with a new company and
some ‘fresh faces’ to come into every morning. Don’t get me wrong, I wasn’t that wet behind the ears, I had a wealth of experience under my belt, but it was time for something new.
The process with Kim at THE Agency, was very straight forward, with a face to face meeting that involved an in-depth chat about my skills and experience, and more importantly, what it was that had brought me to her office that day. She left no stone unturned and our meeting was very relaxed, yet very professional. Kim took the time to really understand my career aspirations and what it was that made me tick. Within 24 hours I had an interview with her long standing client for the role of IT Engineer, who was looking for a ‘me’… Someone who could bring not only a strong IT skill set but someone who was looking for a long term opportunity with a company that wanted a hardworking and committed new starter to learn their business and grow and help in developing their brand and profile within the IT Market dealing with SME’s. The role had my name written all over it! I was offered the job on the spot and accepted straight away – I started a month later.
Within a matter of a few years I became their Operations Manager, running a large team of people who I had personally recruited, trained and nurtured in to a fast paced and fast growing business.
Following a company buy out and fast forward 12 years, I became Head of Service Design and Field Services and then on to becoming a Pre Sales Architect.
It was now time to set up my own thriving business and in 2018 I became the Founder and Operations Director at CTO Limited – a business that helps small business owners gain control of their IT Infrastructure using IT Security Standards, implemented by a friendly and personable IT Support Team.
I’m delighted to say that I work with a fabulous team of people, some of whom I met right at the beginning of my journey in 2007 after the introduction by Kim at THE Agency – that chance meeting that put me in a position that I am so grateful for today – I love my job, I love my business and I love everything about going to work every day…
