Temporary Commercial Debt Recovery Team Leader (Mat cover 12 months) 

Our prestigious client is looking to recruit temporary Commercial Debt Recovery Team Leader to join their Debt Recovery Department team to cover maternity leave for 12 months 

Purpose of the role:

To have full operational responsibility for the day to day running of the Commercial Debt Team ensuring proactive management and effective resolution of issue relating to arrears including the management of other debt contracts and the delivery of excellent customer service. Provide support and ongoing training for all team members, including specialist.

Key Accountabilities, specific for role:

  • Full line management responsibilities for the Commercial Debt and Field Team
  • Manage and responsible for overall productivity within the team to optimise performance and to deliver high levels of service by ensuring speedy resolutions in line with customer service measures and targets
  • Plan for and effectively communicate change (GPTW) linking in with the ability to identify, improve and drive change within the company, in line with compliance
  • Ensure that adequate resources are deployed and planned for all customer generated issues, including electronic, letters, social media and telephones to ensure the business delivers agreed SLA’s and performance commitments
  • Develop skills and expertise in all aspects of Commercial Debt and Field work, with the determination to encourage and deliver continuous improvements within your area
  • Working as part of a wider Leadership team to deliver an exceptional level of service through all areas of the Business Centre
  • Managing and responsible for the process of disconnection/reconnection and the issuing of accurate initial billing through the void process and meeting SLA targets
  • Accountable for the managing the process, compliance and accuracy of jobs created through the Market Architecture Plan (MAP) in the new Retail environment
  • Responsible for working practices and processes related to Commercial Debt and Field work
  • Accountable for auditing and ensuring accurate allowances
  • Ability to establish a network and influencing relationship with Kelda Retail and other stakeholders

Knowledge and skills required:

Essential:

  • Expertise in commercial accounts in billing, recovery and support systems
  • Experience of managing teams of people and specialist teams
  • Excellent communication, influencing and stakeholder management skills
  • Be positive and understand people’s needs
  • Excellent planning and organisational skills
  • Have a high level of both written and verbal communication
  • Ability to build working relationships with all areas of Loop, YW & Kelda
  • Able to use the key self-service systems to support themselves and their teams
  • Able to deliver classroom or 1 – 1 training for new starters or upskilling 

Desirable:

  • Show initiative and adaptability
  • Experience of managing teams of people and specialist teams
  • Knowledge of Microsoft packages
  • Understanding the management of budgets against business plan
  • Presentation skills
  • Previous use of billing and recovery

Ideally you will have strong knowledge of Legislative standards/policies within debt recovery. 

There is onsite parking (on a first come first served basis) with alternative parking nearby and a fantastic working environment in a business that offers strong core values. The working hours are 37.5 per week Monday – Friday and candidates must be flexible to work between the hours of 8:00am – 6:00pm although set shifts will be allocated – (8:00am – 4:00pm, 9:00 – 5:00pm or 10:00 – 6:00pm).
