Part Time Purchase Ledger/Accounts Clerk 22 hours per week – Office based

Working as part of a dedicated team, this is a role that our client is looking to fill straight away.

Reporting to the Head of Accounts, you will work in a small team and be responsible for providing accurate, efficient purchase ledger and general accounts analysis functions that support the operational and financial requirements of the business.

Previous purchase ledger experience is essential.

Our client is looking for 22 hours across 4-5 days (over Monday to Friday). Hours of work will be: 8.30am to 2.30pm or 9.00am to 3.00pm, so this would suit a candidate who is maybe looking for school hours.

On a day to day basis your responsibilities will be:

  • 90% of the role is dealing with purchase ledger invoices
  • Dealing with credit control and statements for loyal client base
  • Managing emails and phone calls from suppliers
  • Bank statement and credit card reconciliation
  • Processing invoices
  • Reconciling bookings to invoices
  • Matching, batching and coding invoices
  • Dealing with supplier invoice queries
  • Supplier payments and reconciliation
  • Monthly petty cash
  • Intermediate level knowledge of Excel spreadsheets
  • General administration

 

The ideal candidate will have previous purchase ledger experience along with a strong administrative background, excellent communication skills and a sound working knowledge of Microsoft Excel. If you have used Sage 200, this would be advantageous but not essential.

 

Our client is looking for a candidate who is confident and friendly who is able to demonstrate initiative, diligence, excellent attention to detail and the ability and desire to be part of a team. You will also need to be flexible in order to achieve deadlines. You will be extremely organised and be able to prioritise your workload.  You will have a confident and professional telephone manner and demonstrate a fantastic customer service ethic.
