Part-Time Learning Support Assistant

Role:
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced teaching / learning support assistant to join a lively, vibrant teaching team.

Under the direction of the teacher and line manager, you will support students with additional and special educational needs, particularly with literacy and numeracy skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist students with basic literacy and numeracy skills
  • Encourage student interest and motivation, providing both individual and group assistance up to 8 students
  • Liaise with the teacher in order to define your role in supporting students
  • Keep knowledge up to date regarding the specific and behavioural needs
  • Administer reading tests as required
  • Assist students on a one-to-one basis with guided reading during form tutor time
  • Make observation notes, and if necessary, pass details on to the Head of Support for Learning
  • Hand out and collect forms as necessary
  • Participate in and assist in supervision of educational visits, under the direction of the teacher or line manager

This role is offered on a 1 year FTC.

About You:

  • You must have/be willing to have an enhanced DBS check for this position

Candidates Must Have:

  • Previous experience working within a similar environment is ESSENTIAL
  • You must have a genuine interest in working with children and supporting their wellbeing and learning environment

Benefits of working for our client include:

  • The hours of work are – 31 hours per week, over - Monday 8:30am to 4:00pm, Tuesday to Friday 8:30am to 3:00pm
  • This role is term-time only (39 weeks + 5 weeks paid leave = 44 weeks) and on a 1 year FTC
