Junior Developer

Location: Mirfield, West Yorkshire

Pay: £21-23,000.00pa

Our well established and growing local client, is looking for a frontend developer with hands-on experience in modern front-end technologies, tools, and a thirst for knowledge, plus the confidence to take the lead on the projects they are given.

Your duties will include:

  • Working across a variety of development projects with expert development prowess to build beautiful, user-friendly, high-performance interfaces
  • You will be building sites using WordPress from initial concept stage all the way through to the production level websites alongside a team of designers and web developers

About You:
Knowledge of the following would be a distinct advantage:

  • API / JSON feed experience
  • Apache / Htaccess
  • SSH / Terminal commands
  • MySQL
  • WHM / cPanel experience
  • Roots (roots.io): Bedrock WP framework, Sage theme development
  • Laravel / Blade
  • Statamic & Perch CMS
  • Vue JS / AngularJS

Candidates Must Have:

  • Previous similar experience of working within an agency environment
  • Previous experience of building sites using WordPress from initial concept through to production is ESSENTIAL
  • Device Responsive Building: HTML, CSS / SCSS, JavaScript / jQuery
  • WordPress: Custom Theme Development, ACF, Plugin Development, Maintenance
  • Languages and Software: PHP, NodeJS / NPM / WebPack, Git / BitBucket, Sketch / Adobe CC
  • Excellent problem solving skills
  • Strong eye for accuracy and excellent attention to detail
  • Good communication skills
  • Understanding of responsive development between browsers operating systems
  • A passion for all things web development related
  • A friendly and approachable attitude
  • Work well in teams as well as individually
  • Excellent problem-solving capabilities
  • Trustworthy and amicable
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • Ability to pass on and share knowledge
