Temporary Service Desk Assistant – 4 to 8 weeks

Our Client is looking to recruit 6 temporary Service Desk Assistants to work within a busy team to support the business needs. You will be reporting to the Service Desk Team Leader within the Business Support Group Department and the role is initially for 4 to 8 weeks but could go on longer, therefore commitment is required.

The role is to support and ensure the delivery of an efficient Shared Service function. The primary role is to provide a professional reception service for our client.

As a Service Desk Assistant, you will be responsible for: 

  • Provide a professional and efficient front-line reception service
  • Providing support to other service desk assistants and post room when required
  • Handle all calls assigned to the team, via the current CRM tool, to resolution
  • Book all travel and accommodation
  • Check, order and replenish catalogue stationery stock items and tea and coffee levels on site
  • Maintaining and issuing security passes and maintain staff and partner security pass access
  • Perform other administrative duties including, but not limited to checking and replenishing supplies in site meeting rooms and first aid boxes, room booking and catering
  • Safe use of the electric vehicle on site for mail delivery and collection
  • Provide training and support to other members of the team such as new starters
  • Ensure all information logged in the relevant systems is of the highest quality and accuracy 

General accountabilities:

  • Undertake training as necessary in line with the development of the role and agreed with the Service Desk Team Leader
  • Ensure Compliance with all regulatory and statutory obligations relevant to the role, including Health and Safety and Wellbeing of self and colleagues
  • Promote opportunities to improve business processes and performance
  • To attend and participate in team meetings
  • Consistently demonstrate company values, appropriate behaviours and high ethical standards, as defined within the responsible leader framework
  • Ensure Health and Safety policies and best practices are understood and demonstrated

Ideally you will have excellent customer service skills, strong administration experience, with good attention to detail and accuracy, excellent standards of customer service and must be confident on the telephone with first class communication and written skills. Also, you must be skilled in the use of IT to be able to support the first line IT queries, have strong organisational and workload management skills including the ability to prioritise own work and reprioritise when necessary.

You will be very process driven have a strong attention to detail and can work in an environment where you will be dealing with both internal and external calls and able to exceed customer expectations, where the focus is on first class customer service.

Hours of work are 37 hours per week, Monday – Friday. The client offers free parking, subsidised canteen and a lovely working environment/culture.
