Our prestigious client has an exciting new role to join their Governance, Risk and Compliance team as a System Administrator. They ideally (but not essential) seek a candidate who has experience of working within the Financial Services or Banking industries or a Compliance role.

Job description

As Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) System Administrator, you will be responsible for the ongoing configuration and maintenance of the GRC system. The Systems Administrators are based overseas so a large part of this will involve liaising with them to ensure that configuration and design remains consistent across the company.

You will be the key contact for system related queries and high-level training will be provided. You will need to learn and become familiar with new release features of the GRC system within the system help section to ensure all users continue to successfully engage with the system.

The role will initially involve assisting the GRC Project Manager to understand the current “as is” business processes, in order to align them all across the business.

Day to day this role will include:-

  • Helping with cleansing and uploading key data i.e. breach and risk registers, users
  • Monitoring and unlocking any users accounts within the GRC system
  • Setting up new users in the system based on user access requests and approvals
  • Making sure the system is used consistently across the business and follows company processes
  • Answering support queries from across the business including HR, IT, Finance and Divisional Risk and Compliance community
  • Creating reports in the GRC system for users i.e. risk committee reports, dashboards and charts
  • Trouble shooting and investigating issues with the system and liaising with the overseas Systems Administrators, to resolve or by logging a Helpdesk issue
  • Support Project Managers in writing business requirements documents for the current “As Is” business processes prior to rollout of modules
  • Support general system training and ensuring that training material is kept up to date on the intranet. 

Essential skills and experience:-

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word
  • Awareness of current risk and compliance systems, practices and processes
  • Ability to think laterally and apply previous experience to new problems, display adaptability to change
  • Ability to manage workload in order to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work individually and as part of a team
  • Ability to identify and correct errors and learn from mistakes
  • Proven interpersonal and communication skills both written and oral.
  • Strong analytical and numerate skills as well as an “enquiring mind” particularly with regards to attention to detail.
  • Proven IT skills in the creation and management of spreadsheets and macros
  • Awareness of risk and compliance systems, practices and processes
  • Experience  of working within the Financial Services industry
  • Experience of working in a fast paced and high-pressure environment
  • Understanding of the FCA Handbook

The salary depends upon experience and the band is between £20K and £30K.
