Purchase to Pay Team Leader – Temp to Perm

Our Corporate Client seeks an experienced Purchase to Pay professional with a solid background in operational procurement and experience managing a busy team in a fast-paced environment. Additionally, a candidate who is experienced with change management, can bring a fresh eye to the business, work under pressure and can implement new processes and ways of working.

As part of their company wide SAP upgrade project, they are implementing Ariba for their indirect purchasing and there will also be separate processes using S4 Hana for their direct procurement. So, you will have multiple processes to manage, adding some complexity. This role requires a candidate who welcomes a challenge and can manage a team through change and the current demands of general day to day business operations.

For spend going through their Ariba system, their Purchasing function in Shared Services will be responsible for:

  • Quality checking of purchase requisitions
  • Requesting quotations from suppliers where they do not have contracted rates for goods
  • Supporting the business in finding the right suppliers for their requirements
  • Monitoring and progress chasing of purchase requisitions needing approval
  • Monitoring and progress chasing of purchase orders needing receipting

Due to the nature of the changes within the business our client will have some big gaps in their process definitions for this team and they are expecting some real challenges when they go live. So, they need a Team Leader who can work under pressure, help to define the right processes, ‘get stuck in’ with the operational side when needed and keep the team motivated through what will be a challenging time. It will be a volume based, transactional role managing the day to day flow of purchase requisitions through the system. There may be minimal involvement in supplier negotiation, but you will not be managing sourcing events as there is a large Procurement team who are separate and responsible for the contracting and sourcing activity.

Our ideal candidate will have worked with either Ariba or Coupa or a similar tool and have experience and exposure to different ways of working and knows what you can get out of a system like Ariba.

You will play an integral role is transforming the purchasing function and assisting with getting the new systems embedded and the team and department working at optimum level.
