Our prestigious Client is looking for a highly experienced Payroll Team Leader to join their busy team in the Bradford area. Managing a team of five, the Payroll Team Leader will report to the Operations Manager.

This is a temporary position and will be ongoing and could potentially lead to a permanent role for the right candidate.

The hours of working are: Monday to Friday – 37 hours per week

The role

  • Ensuring that their team members are trained and developed in accordance with their personal development plans
  • Ensuring all input for monthly payrolls are audit checked, verified and submitted via bacs within the payroll processing timetable
  • Ensuring all statutory payments are maintained, verified and paid in accordance with HMRC statutory payments legislation
  • Ensuring all salary sacrifice schemes are operated in-line with HMRC legislation, ensuring that monthly checks are carried out for eligibility
  • Overseeing the administration and payment to all pension providers and that payments are submitted to each pension provider on the date specified by the provider
  • Planning and managing payroll year end activities, which include the processing of P60s, P11ds, P35 and PSA, ensuring that all HMC guidelines and submission dates are adhered to
  • Managing more complex HMRC matters, including expenses and benefits
  • Assisting with Payroll IT requirements, ensuring that both the team and IT are fully communicated with on all IT requirements
  • Providing leadership on Data Protection policy for the business, ensuring that personnel filing and scanning is up to date, and material can be retrieved quickly, according to DP guidelines
  • Ensuring that reward schemes are implemented and confirmation letters are produced and despatched to a pre-determined timetable
  • Ensuring all payroll requests and payroll report requests received via the Shared Services inbox are actioned in accordance with payroll service level agreements

About you:

 The Payroll Team Leader role is ideally suited to a hard-working and experienced Candidate who is confident in handling high pressure and time-sensitive responsibilities with the appropriate degree of professionalism and resilience.

Candidates must have:

  • Leadership/supervisory/managerial experience
  • Extensive Payroll experience
  • Excellent communication skills
  • The ability to work under pressure and effectively multitask
  • Confident and competent IT user
  • Familiar with HMRC processes and guidelines
  • Experience working with Data Protection policy and providing guidance on this
