Our prestigious Client is a UK owned and managed business with nearly 70 years of product history. They produce products for the UK and export markets and over the last 5 years, this multimillion-pound business has grown by over 60% and they are delighted, due to expansion to present an exciting newly created role for a National Account Manager to be based from their Leeds office.

The National Account Manager will involve working with a diverse client base from small independent businesses to large retailers. The main focus of the role is to maintain and develop positive business relationships to ensure future sales growth by presenting, promoting and selling products to existing and prospective customers.

Reaching out to customer leads through occasional cold calling, but mainly through nurturing and developing a thriving client base you will expedite the resolution of customer problems and complaints to maximum satisfaction.

The National Account Manager will be working to agreed sales targets / outcomes and co-ordinate sales effort with team members and other departments to ensure that client needs are met.

You will also supply senior management with reports on customer needs, problems, interests, competitive activities, and potential for new products and keep abreast of best practices and promotional trends.

Our client seeks a candidate who has a proven background as a National Account Manager (ideally FMCG). You must be experienced at building productive business/professional relationships with clients at varying levels and be able to offer high levels of service delivery. At the same time, you must be confident dealing with difficult situations and working with the client to get the best resolve. You will be highly motivated, target driven and have a proven record in sales and account handling and be confident at creating and delivering presentations to different audience needs.

You will be an ambitious ‘go–getter’, a team player, be able to work on your own initiative and be confident at selling, communicating and negotiating. Additionally, you will have strong time management and organisational skills and be good at prioritising your work. The role does involve some forecasting and costing up, therefore numeracy and accuracy are paramount.

You will also have excellent knowledge of MS Excel and PowerPoint, have a full clean driving licence
