We are looking for an experienced tecnical buyer to take responsibility for ensuring reliable, economic and competitive supply of engineering and maintenance products and services. The role requires previous experience and expertise in a buying role and ideally an understanding of SAP R3 (MM Module) and interlinked processes (e.g. finance, legal).

The main requirements of the role are to develop and implement procurement strategies and supply concepts for all sites in the UK and Ireland; to source suppliers and negotiate contracts; to manage supplier relationships and to steer purchasing activities accordingly.

To maintain business communication with internal and external stakeholders and foster the use of standard tools and processes in the region, including change management activities. Previous experience in project management and/or change management would be an advantage.

The successful candidate will be an experienced buyer with a proven background within a buying role (preferably in the areas of engineering equipment, maintenance or technical services) and possess a very good understanding of procurement interfaces with internal and external stakeholders. They will also be computer literate with basic knowledge of SAP transactions, particularly the MM Module.

You will be confident and assertive with very good communication and negotiation skills, strong entrepreneurial thinking and able to work with minimum supervision. Good commercial awareness is required, along with an ability to build relationships and gain cooperation. Leadership skills/ experience are an advantage. The role will require flexibility to travel.
